Neighborhood House Celebrates 5 Successful Years in New Building

The celebration recognized the contribution of three outstanding volunteers in making the past 5 years a success. Sponsored by: MedLink,
Greater Louisville Health Enterprises Network, O’Shea’s, Access Services Group, John Calabrese, Kroger, Louisville Fruit Company, National City
and Yum Brands, the event drew a crowd of 200 people on Monday June 30. The guests included such dignitaries as Congressman John Yarmuth, Senator
David Karem, Regina Warren, Cheri Bryant-Hamilton, and Kelly Downard among others.
During the celebration the first ever Volunteer Award was given to Jane Parker and Peter Creech. Executive Director Pam Rice said, “We have come
so far in the past five years. Our Board of Directors and volunteers have made our success possible.”
In addition to the award, the event recognized the work of Council Member Cheri Bryant-Hamilton in securing funds to pay down the building debt.
Stock Yards Bank and Metro United Way also received recognition for their contribution to Neighborhood House.
Rice said she is happy to be able to celebrate Neighborhood House’s contribution to Portland and looks forward to continuing their work of ending the
cycle of poverty through educational opportunities at Neighborhood House.
