The summer of 2018 brought another successful year of our full day out-of-school time
program. This year, we provided educational, hands-on learning opportunities to more
than 100 youth. They were able to have hands-on opportunities in photography, art,
drums and dance. They visited the Parklands, had weekly field trips and more!
We are proud to be part of a community of organizations committed to improving
outcomes for youth. BLOCS (Building Louisville’s Out-of-School Time Coordinated System)
sets standards for program quality and provides ongoing training opportunities. This
foundational support helps to ensure that our program is developing life skills, preventing
delinquency, increasing motivation and teaching critical social-emotional skills.
More than 80% of youth enrolled in our summer Dreamers’ Academy maintained — or
even improved! — their reading scores, preventing summer learning losses.
Thank you to all of our partners and supporters who helped make the summer a success.
