Introducing the Circle of Changemakers

In a “normal” year we provide critical programming and services to more than 2,400 people in Louisville’s west end. But this year has been far from normal.

Though filled with unforeseen challenges, there have been so many times throughout the year that the generosity of others has stopped us in our tracks, like the people who have signed up to support us by making a monthly gift. These are the first in our newest group - the Circle of Changemakers.

This week brought the beginning of the second quarter grading period for the 41 students attending Neighborhood House daily for NTI support. Together they represent 20 JCPS schools.

Our team is managing 41 different schedules and classroom requirements, helping kids with technology needs and providing homework help, all while staying in communication with teachers and parents. We asked them to step into the role of educator, coach, liaison and counselor, and they did so without knowing what the future would hold. It is impossible to overstate how important they are to our kids.

As we write to you today we don’t yet know when students will be returning to the classroom. We do know that they will continue to have an NTI home with us until they do. Today we are planning ways to safely support our members of all ages during the upcoming holiday season and throughout the winter months, and we are asking for your help.

Please consider joining the Circle of Changemakers by signing up for a monthly recurring gift. If you do so by Dec. 1st you’ll always have a special place in our heart as a founding Changemaker.

We’re excited to share more about the Changemakers with you in the coming weeks, like a founding member gift and special ways we’ll be highlighting this committed group.

The need for the wrap-around support we provide has long been crucial for children and families, and those services are more crucial than ever. For many, it means their survival. Thank you for all the ways you help make our work possible.
