Neighborhood House Burns Its Note

On Thursday, September, 15 Neighborhood House held a Note Burning ceremony to commemorate the final payment on our mortgage. Joined by Mayor Greg Fischer; Metro Councilmembers Cheri Bryant Hamilton and Kelly Downard; Stock Yards Bank Chairman & CEO, David P. Heintzman; and countless supporters, we were able to celebrate with those who have helped us throughout the past decade and a half. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Councilmembers Hamilton and Downard in securing Metro government funds to pay down our mortgage, Neighborhood House was able to focus its resources on helping the residents of Portland. The evening was also an opportunity to express our appreciation to Stock Yards Bank and the City of Shively, who helped secure the original financing for our building. We are tremendously grateful that so many of our close friends were able to join us on this special occasion.
