Our Teachers Recognized for Excellence

Metro United Way held a celebration to honor Excellence Academy teachers for their hard work over the past year. Teachers were recognized for professional development achievements and delivering high quality education to preschool children. Neighborhood House preschool teachers, Dynasti Thompson and Valerie Knight-Collier, were honored for reaching new professional teaching levels. Ms. Thompson completed her Child Development Associate credentials and reached Master teacher status, the highest level at the Excellence Academy. Ms. Knight-Collier was honored for becoming a Scholar level teacher. Each center was able to nominate a staff member of their choice for recognition. The Neighborhood House “Spotlight Award” was given to Tamara Watkins for her commitment to excellence in early childhood education. Joe Tolan, CEO at Metro United Way, and Ashley Butler of Lift a Life Foundation, recognized the teachers for their achievements. We are very proud of our Child Development Center staff who continued to reach new levels of success as early childhood educators.
